Rail cam News
We have found a rail cam that may work for us. The camera measures 1”x3/4”x5/8” and the wiring comes out of the side. This seems to be the norm for this size camera. I talked to the head sales person that makes the camera about removing the camera from the shell. He stated that the shell is needed to hold the lens and two circuit boards in alignment. I told him we wanted to put the camera in an “N” scale locomotive or rotary snowplow. I inquired about shaving down the sides of the camera to make it smaller and about modifying it so the wiring comes out of the rear instead of the side. He stated that for $15 he would shave the sides and modify the wiring if I would send him the camera. I figure for that price I’ll let him do it. When I get the camera back Rick Shumpert & I will get together and work on which will work better for locomotive shell; a rotary snowplow or us. I believe which ever we choose there will be some modification involved. I was also asked that when we build this unit to write it up and take pictures as we go so we could send the article back the camera manufacturer so he put it on their web site. Hey nothing like national advertisement.
A home Opportunity?
Rick Shumpert is investigating the possibility of being associated with the Mining Museum on Northgate Rd. We will need to knock off the dust on our search letter and send it to them. Rick will inquire about rent or utilities. Will write more on this subject when I have more information.

Denver South Park & Pacific
As most of you know I like to drive along and search out old railroad grades and sites and then try to learn the history. So on August 19th or 26th Mary & I will make a one-day trip to Como and follow a much on the DSP&P as possible in a day. So if you are interested in going with us let me know and we’ll make arrangements. MP

Repair of MTL
We need to do some minor repairs to some of the MTL modules. I’ll be replacing the motors for the wind turbines and rebuild those that are not balanced. We need to replace some track on some of the modules as it was pulled loose from the ties and temporarily glued back in place. The yard need some track replaced and rewire the switches so we can add another 12” to the storage in the yards. You can get with Lester or me on this. On the intermodel module we need to move a track and remount the crane. I believe one of the wires came loose from the on/off switches so this will need repair as well. By moving the track and crane we use all the track for operations and display. We need to wire several of the other sidings for future use.
