Superintendent Coburn would like to start the running of trains in homes again. The January running will be at Joe Morgan's home on Jan 14th from 1 to 4 pm. If you need directions you can call Joe. When I get other dates lined up I'll get them into the newsletter.
It was brought up at the corporate meeting to start doing clinics again. We will need a list of what you want to know and a list of clinic volunteers. Unfortunately we will not be able to do clinics that require paint, Hydracal, or other such clinics that smell or are messy because of the dining hall. Those types of clinics we may be able to schedule to be done in someone's home.

Mary & I just got back from Emmetsburg, Iowa, where my mother-in-law lives. Her house sits about 150 feet from a railroad track. Unfortunately most of the daily trains go by at about 5 am, but once in a while one will go by during the day light hours. There are two lines in Emmetsburg. The east – west line was operated by the SOO railroad and the north – south line was operated by the Chicago Northwestern. Next the line behind the house was operated by UP and then ICE (Iowa, Chicago & Eastern) and now a new operator is on the line DM&E (Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern). Most of the changes have taken place over the last three years. These changes came about as a result of two new industries to Emmetsburg. The first is a new soybean plant and across the road from it a new Ethanol plant. Do to the fact that it was so foggy we could hardly see the plants, I'll have to take pictures next year. I'm not really interested in modeling such a setup but it is interesting to watch. The two plants are located on the East side of Emmetsburg where the two line cross each other. So both plants can be serviced from both lines. Several new switches and yards were added to each plant setup.  Maybe next time we go back there I can get a tour of each plant, with pictures, we'll see.
